Bernard (Bernie) Banks, Ph.D. is the Director of Rice University’s Doerr Institute for New Leaders. Dr. Banks is an expert on leadership, organizational change, and organizational culture. Dr. Banks served as a U.S. Army Officer for more than 30 years, retiring from the Army as a Brigadier General in 2016. Dr. Banks has worked with organizations like Microsoft, General Electric, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Procter and Gamble, IBM, and the Association of Chiefs of Police concerning their leader development efforts. Dr. Banks’ work has been published by various outlets, including Harvard Business Review, Military Psychology, and the New York Times.

David Day, Ph.D. is a professor of Psychological Science & Leadership at Claremont McKenna and the Academic Director at the Kravis Leadership Institute. Dr. Day is esteemed for his contributions to applied leadership. He was the lead author of An Integrative Approach to Leader Development (Routledge, 2009) and the editor of The Oxford Handbook of Leadership and Organizations (Oxford University Press, 2014). David is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, Association for Psychological Science, International Association of Applied Psychology, and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
